Six things families ask about most
Getting started
How do I start care with Insyt FamilyCare?
Send us a WhatsApp message describing your situation. A care coordinator responds, listens, and schedules an in-home assessment anywhere in Nigeria, or a virtual consultation first if you’re arranging care from abroad. You receive a written care plan and quote before committing to anything.
How quickly can care begin?
For most engagements, care can begin within days of the assessment, and for post-surgical cases we aim to have a care professional ready for the day of discharge. Tell us your timeline and we’ll work to it.
What is the in-home assessment?
A registered nurse visits the beneficiary’s home to evaluate their level of care: health conditions, mobility, medication, daily living needs and the home environment. It’s how we match the right tier, caregiver, CHEW or registered nurse, and it’s the basis of your written care plan and quote.
Is there an obligation after the assessment?
No. The assessment produces a care plan and transparent quote; the decision is entirely yours, and plans can be adjusted until they fit your family and budget.
Pricing
How much does home care cost in Nigeria?
Pricing is personalised to each beneficiary’s assessed needs, the care tier, the schedule (daily shifts, live-in, night support) and any clinical add-ons. After your in-home assessment you receive a transparent written quote with no hidden charges.
Why don’t you publish fixed prices?
Because a fixed price would either overcharge families with simple needs or under-resource beneficiaries with complex ones. The assessment ensures you pay for exactly the level of care your loved one actually needs, nothing more.
Can diaspora families pay from abroad?
Yes, in USD or GBP on a simple monthly subscription, through convenient international channels confirmed at consultation.
Our care team
Who will be caring for my loved one?
Depending on the assessed tier: an Insyt Caregiver Academy-certified caregiver (Basic), a licensed Community Health Extension Worker (Intermediate), or a registered nurse (Advanced). All work under nurse-led clinical supervision.
How are caregivers vetted and trained?
Every caregiver completes the Insyt Caregiver Academy, covering personal care, vitals, medication support, infection control, ethics and Care App documentation, and is certified before any deployment. CHEWs and nurses hold professional licences in addition.
Will we have the same care professional consistently?
Consistency is a core principle; we assign a consistent professional wherever possible, with trained, briefed cover for leave periods.
What supervision happens after care starts?
Daily Care App data is monitored by our clinical team; Basic and Intermediate clients receive a monthly registered-nurse assessment visit that reviews and updates the care plan; Advanced clients have an RN on-site.
Coverage & logistics
Do you really cover all 36 states?
Yes, plus the FCT. Deployment is coordinated from our Lagos head office, with the same Academy certification, Care App documentation and clinical supervision on every engagement regardless of location. See our locations page for how it works.
Do you offer live-in care?
Yes. The assessment determines whether visiting shifts, live-in arrangements or night support best fit the beneficiary, and the schedule is written into the care plan.
Can you work alongside our family’s doctor?
Absolutely, we prefer it. Our care reports and trend data support your doctor’s decisions, and our nurses coordinate around prescribed treatment plans.
The Insyt Care App
What can family members see on the app?
GPS-verified clock-ins and clock-outs, daily vitals, medication logs, meals, fluids and exercise (daily ADL reports), caregiver notes, monthly nurse reviews, and downloadable trend reports.
Can multiple relatives have access?
Yes, every authorised family member can have dashboard access, across any number of countries.
Is the data secure?
Yes. Records are private to your family and our supervising clinicians, timestamped, tamper-proof and never shared with third parties.
Boundaries & safety
Is Insyt FamilyCare an emergency service?
No. We provide planned, structured care. For medical emergencies, call your state emergency line or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Our teams support and escalate, but hospitals handle emergencies.
Do you prescribe or dispense medication?
No. We support medication management, reminders, adherence tracking and nurse administration of prescribed medication, but prescribing remains with your doctor.
Are you an HMO or insurance product?
No. Insyt FamilyCare is a concierge health service paid directly by families and organisations, though we do partner with HMOs and hospitals on care coordination.
